I was about to wipe my system and reinstall windows so I was clearing out unwanted software and saveing files to externals. followed multiple powershell fixes, updated windows, checked firewalls, checked routers Did all the regedit and CMD prompt proedures and rating cpu etc. I folllowed multiple trouble shoooters, followed every step on MS site. Teredo disabled, network blocked, app mostly crashing either on startup or after a few seconds. PC games no longer linked even though downloaded to system, Game Services Disabled. I have a full 32GB memory dump available for analysis & have submitted a Feedback report on this issue as well. If a kernel debugger is available get the stack backtrace.Īrg1: 0000000000000000, memory referencedīit 0 : value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operationīit 3 : value 0 = not an execute operation, 1 = execute operation (only on chips which support this level of status)Īrg4: fffff801590c5b3e, address which referenced memoryįAULTING_MODULE: fffff8015dc80000 partmgr

This is usuallyĬaused by drivers using improper addresses. Interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. The crash has continued to happen every time the app is launched, with every version released since then.Įxcerpt from analyze -v Bugcheck Analysis IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)Īn attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an Original Post: Launching the XBOX App for PC crashes my PC with an IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL bugcheck after the 2301.1000.67.0 release was installed on the 16th of January. Since a lot of the games installed & managed by the XBOX App use XVDs/virtual disks, it looks like something is going wrong as the XBOX App starts up & tries to enumerate the installs (and potentially trying to mount the XVDs). I just don't know exactly what is causing it to break during the initial launch of the app.

This is how I know the culprit is the XBOX App for PC & was able to dump the debug excerpt below showing the process is the XBOX App for PC & the fault is in the partition driver. The one thing I can't do is fully debug memory dumps (yet). I used to work for Microsoft doing "Platforms Support", which means I was the one to troubleshoot & fix all sorts of OS related issues for customers. All basic troubleshooting has already been done, multiple times over. Everything is up to date (BIOS, drivers, etc). I've launched the XBOX App for PC a couple of times now without encountering a GSOD/bugcheck.ĮDIT for more clarity: The system is stable outside of the crash introduced by the XBOX App for PC with the Jan 16th update. The "Gaming Services" app component updated last night to 1.0 from 1.0 that had been installed previously. EDIT: So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed here. System has been rebooted multiple times & the XBOX app has been launched multiple times without issue since that component updated on the 28th.

UPDATE: The Gaming Services update to 1.0 appears to have corrected the issue that caused the PC to bugcheck when launching the XBOX app for PC. I mean, how is a full system crash that is caused by the XBOX App for PC not worth discussing?

Mod team, I'm re-posting with more technical detail proving it's the XBOX App for PC causing the system crash, so that you will hopefully not delete this one.
